The Notre Dame interior (I'm not certain we were allowed to take photos inside, but everyone else was doing it, so we went with the flow).

Same goes for the Louvre, but again there was a semi circle of tourists around the Mona Lisa, so we snapped away.

Us at the base of the Eiffel Tower. We chose a bad day to go; it was cold, rainy, and we chose to do the stairs. Gruelling (yeah, I am a bit unfit).

Woke up on our second day in Switzerland to find the entire city of Zurich had been blanketed with snow. Pretty amazing, since I've never actually seen snow like this fall on such a huge scale.

The entrance of the Blindekuh restaurant we ate at in Zurich.
We're now in Brussels, Belgium, where Biddo continues to eat his way through all the chocolate he can find. Heading to Bruges tomorrow for the day, then to Amsterdam for Christmas.

Hi Michael and Daniel,
Great to see some photos of you Daniel!
The snow on the trees looks beautiful and I hope you do have a white Christmas in Amsterdam. Don't forget to try to get to the Van Gogh museum. I also loved the Riks Gallery with its Rembrant"s and Dutch Naturalist painters.
See if you can phone us Christmas eve your time Christmas Morning ours!
Love,
Kerry (mum)
Dear Daniel and Michael,
Very nice photos indeed. We still have our photo of Hampstead Heath all covered in the first real snow we had ever seen. I doubt if we ever got one as good as the cathedral and I know we have none inside the Louvre, as Ralph would say I'm a goody-two shoes!
Daniel not only have I learned your first name I now know what you look like as well as how you write. We look forward to actually meeting you. Keep it up both of you, it is really good not to have to wait for letters and to have some sense of what you do each day.
I borrowed Ian Mcewan's book, Amsterdam, on the strength of your next stop. The cover has best friends fighting a pistol duel in top hats which is pretty unlikely for you two.
Take care, love and cheers,
Judy and Ralph
